Approach

    Heat 8 dl of the milk with the sugar and the seeds from the vanilla pod.

    Whisk the remaining 2 dl of milk together with the cornstarch and egg yolks.

    Carefully pour the hot milk over the egg mixture while whisking.

    Pour everything back into the pot and heat it up. Stir continuously so it doesn't burn. When the custard comes to a boil and you see the first bubble, you can take the pot off the heat.

    Softened gelatin can now be added and stirred in. Let the mixture set, and you have vanilla custard!

  • 1 liter Whole milk
  • 160 g Sugar
  • 1 stk Vanilla bean (optionally 2 ts of vanilla sugar)
  • 8 stk Egg yolks
  • 60 g Cornstarch (Maizena)
  • 4 stk Gelatin sheets
